Harel has used the strong impact of the visual medium in educational programs for over a decade. In this workshop he shares these unique methods with Jewish educators and offers them a new way to reach, through the use of art, the hearts of their audiences. Miami Florida: Destination Israel work shop
A display of Harel’s photos serves as the trigger for an engaging workshop which explores participant's perceptions of Judaism, art as a reflection of reality and the multiple meanings of the place called Israel.
In small groups, participants are asked to view photographs and unpack the messages they find in the photographs.
These activities encourage people to engage directly with the photos, allowing the viewer to bring his/her personal experiences, biases and emotions into the process of understanding art and connecting to their Jewish identity.
